Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in. Others, like analytics cookies, are optional. We also use your browser’s storage (localStorage) for a few preferences; it works like a cookie but is never sent to our server.
2. Cookies Comnview needs
These keep Comnview working and secure, so they don’t need your consent. None of them track you across other websites.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
__Secure-better-auth.session_token | Keeps you signed in | 30 days, renewed while you use Comnview |
__Secure-authjs.session-token | Your sign-in from before 29 September 2026. Replaced by the cookie above on your next visit, then removed | Until 8 October 2026 at the latest |
comnview_creator_id | Remembers the previews you made without an account, so they stay yours | 1 year |
preview-auth-
| Remembers that you entered the password of a protected link | 24 hours |
comnview_ref | Remembers which shared link brought you here, so its owner sees how many sign-ups it led to (no tracking across other sites) | 30 days |
comnview-consentbrowser storage | Remembers your cookie choice | Until you change it |
localee-settings, comnview-*browser storage | Your name and colour as a reviewer, and view preferences in the reviewer (panel, sorting, pencil, hints) | Until you clear them |
3. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets these cookies to count visits and see how the site is used. We use the numbers to improve Comnview; we don’t use them for advertising. If you reject analytics, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_
| Google Analytics: counts visits and how the site is used, without identifying you. Only set if you accept analytics | Up to 2 years |
4. Shared links
Links shared through Comnview (the pages, images and PDFs people review) use only the cookies they need: staying signed in, remembering a link password you entered, and your reviewer name. They don’t load analytics.
5. Changing your choice
You can change your choice at any time: . The same link is at the bottom of every page. Rejecting after accepting turns analytics off and deletes its cookies.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block the cookies Comnview needs, signing in and some links won’t work.
